While I will miss your posts, I love that you hear this inner call so strongly. Deep down we know what we are called to do, or not do. How we need to best transform next. Most of the time we don’t listen to that call. You’re listening.
Thanks Matt, ever since I discovered you on twitter yours has been a voice I enjoyed, but you have to do what’s best for you and somewhere down the line I hope to hear where the muse takes you, good luck!
All the best! Before the course I would have been worried but after I understand natural sway of the muse needing their rest! Agreed best to listen than fight! Looking forward to your return but plenty of old content to keep up with!
Knowing how spiritual and bright your intellect and abilities are, I expect more great thoughts from you in future. You are an inspiration. Find your quiet place; may it be filled with grace.
Just follow your inner voice, your daemon. I have written two ambitious novels as part of a trilogy and am about to embark on the final part, after half-deliberately not writing fiction for one and a half year. I only want to write when I feel the necessity to do so, when I 'know' it is essential, and not only for me... So, God speed, Matt!
Awww, Matt. Thank you for writing about this with so much clarity.
Your previous post that you quote, I have been hanging on to it, for this: "that what I am seeking through my creative efforts and actions is in fact a sense of final fulfillment in which I will not feel the need to do such things anymore, but will instead feel free simply to exist, to be, to sit in silence.”
At some point any remaining vestiges of an apparent separate doer/thinker dissolve. Grace and death at once. Or only grace:)
I am so grateful we ran into one another just on the edge. Thank you for all you have brought here, for who you are, and wishing you, yes, just being (which I suspect already is).
You're not alone in this great change. Listening and honoring your inner knowing is the best move to make as an artist, which you've written about at length. This is simply a continuation.
It is actually encouraging that you are living in accordance with what you taught in the course, follow the daemon, wherever it leads, and I will try to do the same
All the best ❤️ thank you for the inspiration and wonder you have brought to Substack.

Take care of yourself, Matt. Come back to us when the fire burns anew.
Thank you Matt and all the best. May the flow be with you ⚡️

Sounds as though you're staying true. I'll definitely miss your voice here. But, glad
you are following the impulses, whatever they are. Lets stay in touch.
