You know, I’m honestly not sure who I am, where I’m from, or how I got here either, but I can certainly say I’m glad to have arrived!

I did a bit of googling when you mentioned you’d been writing for decades and I’m looking forward to diving into some of your stuff!

Writers like Jason Pargin, HP Lovecraft and China Miéville have put together some of my absolute favorite reads. Can’t wait to get acquainted with your spin on cosmic horror. As a bonus, Nondualism is a new and exciting word for me as I’ve leaned into my more Spiritually Wandering self in the last 3 years or so—I’m glad to have another avenue to study up on it!

I suspect I may have signed up recently based on some note(s) you shared somewhere. Thanks for this well timed intro.

A pleasure to meet you, Geoffe! Since you're looking to get acquainted with my writing, I can tell you that my short fiction collection To Rouse Leviathan and my essay collection What the Daemon Said are almost certainly your best bets, since each collects two decades of my work. The Pargin-Lovecraft-Miéville triad is quite a high bar, so I hope you find something resonant in my work.

Also glad to contribute to your understanding of nondualism. For me, spiritual matters have been inextricably intertwined with weird and cosmic horror almost from the start. If you find these things interesting in tandem, you might find something worthwhile in the interview that I gave to Conner Habib last year for his podcast, and/or in my interview a few months ago for the Mycelium Signal podcast, and/or in my 2022 interview for Weird Studies.

Free or paid doesn't matter in the end. I'm just glad to have come in contact with you, and I'm glad what I'm doing her at TLD continues to resonate with you. Appreciate your presence and vibe here (and elsewhere).

It’s rare I read another Substack description and think “shit! *That’s* what I’m trying to do.” Subscribed and looking forward to exploring more.

So happy it speaks to you, Dan. As I just came from saying in my reply to your comments on my "living into the dark" post from TLD's founding back in 2022, a look at your own Substack confirms from my end that sense of shared resonance. Glad to have connected with you.

I love Substack for this reason! I've been a bit insular to date so I'm looking forward to exploring and connecting more. I've got a few more of your posts open and ready to read.
