Thanks for this. I'm currently reading Fourth Wall Phantoms by Joshua Cutchin (great read!), and I'm in the same state. Cosmic egg blown open.

This is the second time in two days that Cutchin's book has been recommended to me. I need to look it up.

You should. It's mind-blowing. In the good sense!

In a way, Sin Blaché and Helen Macdonald's highly entertaining novel 'Prophet' is a fictionalized version of many of the concepts in Joshua Cutchin's 'Fourth Wall Phantoms.'

I didn't read it, but Cutchin acknowledges upfront that a lot of writers and thinkers have connected the dots in different ways before him. I like the open-mindedness of the whole endeavour.

I’m with you. These are some truly astonishing times as it relates to disclosure — not just UAP but all sorts of until-now only rumored psi phenomena. And…no one around me seems to notice, care, or believe. 🤣 Still…

You’ve made me think of my favorite Mary Oliver words… perhaps some of my favorite words of any poet or writer ever…

Pay attention.

Be astonished.

Tell about it.”

Space the final frontier- solution to Global control. Ronald Reagan speaking to the world about the threat to humanity from space would solve regional conflicts & competitions to rally all to counter the “invaders”. So like “gods” even if they are not real someone will just’make them up’ the ends justify the means.

I had a close encounter at age 17. It was the beginning of the opening my mind to the larger realm of wonder that you speak of.

Death by Astonishment, or the Death of Astonishment... Terrence McKenna was certainly right that things were going to get a lot weirder, but maybe they've just gotten too weird to handle... I think you're correct to point everyone back to the weirdest thing possible, which is the ongoing moment, the always and already of our conscious mystery. I'm continually struck as well by how unimpressed the world is with this information. Martel and Ford had some good riffs about this on their Jung/UFO episode. Wonder if anyone would even believe Trump if he tried to make the announcement...

Great point. Who would even hear or heed it if someone "in power" made the big announcement? And/but then, of course, such a line of thought circles back around to the conspiracy theory that this is all planned, that we've all been deliberately softened and distracted and subliminally prepared by decades of science fiction entertainment, and maybe now by a charade of cultural insanity and ubiquitous noise, for the fabled "disclosure" moment to land without much upset or fanfare.

Totally insane times of epistemological confusion and meltdown. How weird to you get with your UFO/NHI thinking? Is there any connection between the daimon/muse and UAP/NHI-consciousness related threads? (lol big and insane question... you don't have to answer, but I've wondered how you approach these possibilities). In some ways, we're all slowly being lured into Chapel Perilous now...

There's a deep and direct connection between the muse/daemon/genius and the whole UAP and NHI phenomenon. The most directly I've ever gone into writing about myself it is in my essay/paper "In Search of Higher Intelligence," about the intertwined daemonic muses of Aleister Crowley, Timothy Leary, and Robert Anton Wilson. From the Aiwass voice that dictated the Book of the Law to Crowley, to Leary's Starseed Transmissions, to Wilson's famous experience of feeling as if he were the recipient of psychic transmissions from Sirius, to the overarching realm of thought, experience, and speculation that makes up the whole arena, there's a strong resonance with current and perennial UFO/UAP/NHI phenomena. You can find my paper in WHAT THE DAEMON SAID or in the October 2012 issue of the academic journal Paranthropology (https://paranthropologyjournal.weebly.com/free-pdf.html).

Rad, thanks so much for the thoughts, and for sharing the article. I've wondered where you land on UAP/NHI for a while! Excited to read this essay.

Reading this, I was reminded of an article called 'What Is It We Fear in Visitors from Space? That They Might Be Like Us?' written many years ago by an obscure Zen master who lived in Connecticut. I think you might enjoy it: https://selfdefinition.org/pulyan/writings/why-fear-visitors-outer-space.htm

Love this! Thank you, Luka. I'm actually quite familiar with Pulyan, having read, for example, Letters of Transmission, the book of his letters on enlightenment to Richard Rose that was edited together by Bart Marshall. I highly recommend it. But I was unaware of his piece on extraterrestrials. I can see why my post called it to mind.

Exactly! The only thing that should truly leave us speechless with amazement is not whether UFOs exist or not, or whether they are this or that, or whether the universe is the size it is, etc., but the simple fact that something exists at all and that millions of localized and only apparently separate focal points of conscious experience are taking place (or so it seems...!).

In this interview, author and thinker Patrick Harpur, author of “The Daimonic Reality. A Field Guide to the Otherworld,” discusses how UFOs and other related phenomena are daimonic in nature, signals from the Other World to spark our imaginations, capture our attention, and drive the energizing the recurring archetypes. https://youtu.be/5c9gvwLS_Og?si=j2bqXQIIn5h4MjB4

Thanks for calling attention to this, Jesús. DAIMONIC REALITY is of course canonical, and Patrick is as brilliant a thinker and speaker/expositor on the subject as we could hope to have. I look forward to listening.

From the book “Extraterrestrial Ethics” by Dr Jensine Andresen:

“The title of this book, ‘Extraterrestrial Ethics,’ has two meanings—the ethics of extraterrestrials, and ethics for extraterrestrials. On the first topic—the ethics of extraterrestrials—I ask what kind of ethics ETI embodies. Based on the actions of the ETI/UAP around us now, we can conclude that ETI’s ethics is based on an ontological understanding of the nature of reality that comprehends the unbroken wholeness of existence. This provides the basis for ETI’s deontological ethics. On the second topic—ethics for extraterrestrials—I propose that to participate peacefully and constructively with ETI, human beings must learn to perceive, understand, and embody an ontology of wholeness and a deontological rather than utilitarian ethical approach to existence. This is necessary for humankind to create a socially just society and, also, to survive as a species. It also is the same approach that enables human beings to participate constructively in the ongoing and accelerating process of creative acculturation with ETI.”
